Things that I don't understand
I don't understand how we can increase spending, decrease taxes, fail to account in our budget for the costs of a very expensive war, and claim we are going to cut the deficit in half.
I don't understand how a president from the party that is most closely identified with fiscal conservatism winds up spending more than anyone in history.
I don't understand how Dean could raise more money than any other Democratic canidate, and be out of money after the first primary in New Hampshire. But I suspect it will make an interesting story when the truth is told. Dean's campaign blew it big time... losing Iowa and New Hampshire was not the problem, having no money to campaign for any of the Super Tuesday states was a BIG problem. Someone somewhere was grossly incompetent. He may win my own state tomorrow but his chances for the nomination now appear to be slim and none.
I don't understand what dark matter really is, but luckily I'm not alone. ^_^
I listened to a show on NPR tonight... Science Friday, I think it's called. They've only been running it on my local NPR station for a few weeks. Before that it was The Next Big Thing, and before that it was Rewind. My Friday listening options continue to go downhill... well anyway Science Friday isn't all that bad. Jeff would certainly like it. ^_^ And mostly I mention it because they're going to be broadcasting from Seattle next week, so I thought maybe Jeff or Gene or someone might be interested.
Although now that I look it's in the middle of the day, so I'd be the one free to see it instead of most of my friends. It's 11am to 1pm at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. Free and open to the public. On Friday the 13th, I should point out. But no scientist would give credence to such superstitions.
