My Day Off

miko2You remember that Army commercial (or Marines... I forget) where they say that they do more before 8 am than everyone else does all day? Well, I'm just the opposite... I do less all day than most people manage by 8 or 9 am. ^_^
The plan for the day was:
1. Call bank/MSN about them billing me.
2. Go to CompUSA for AGP video card.
3. Pick up my replacement contact that finally came in (Optical Dept at Fred Meyers.)
4. Pick up comics.
5. Generally get ready for NWCon... do laundry, clean up the house.
But I have the day off. So I stayed up really late, and slept in, and then played games on the computer, and took a long bath and read the rest of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
And then it was 7 pm and I hadn't done ANYTHING.
Well that's not true... I did call MSN. They defended their decietful practices as "You signed up for a free trial account at some store (Radio Shack) and if you don't call us up and cancel, then we assume you want to continue the account and bill you. That's how it works. It's not our fault -- the store signed you up, not us." Of course, they NEVER contact you about it, they don't send you any kind of invoice, they even claimed that they didn't keep track of usage since it's unlimited, so they can't know if I've ever used the account or not... like I believe that one. Anyway, the guy cancelled me and credited me for the last 2 months, which I suppose is all I can expect. And he hung up on me, lol. I gave him an earful. And my bank said I could request a copy of the contract, and if I haven't agreed to being billed then they would back me in getting my money back... but of course, I know MSN is too smart and I probably did agree to cancel or else be billed. I was just stupid, and forgot all about it.
Sooo.... 7 at night, I drove to CompUSA, and they were still open. Whew! Drove to Fred Meyers, the Optical Dept. was still open. Yay! (You have to remember... normally I do this stuff on the weekend, and nothing's ever open late).
Stopped by my comic shop at 7:45, which was still open. But no new comics until tomorrow for some reason. Talked to them about music and various things cons among them, since NWCon is this week. I mentioned Conifur too... one of the guys there (not the owner, but his employee) does furry comics, so I told him about PSFG and our writer's nights. He seemed interested, and showed me his comics.
Bought dinner at Gordito's. Yum. Came home and watched tv while I ate... basically gave up on doing laundry or cleaning or getting ready for the con.
I think I'm supposed to be on three panels:

Fiction (eFanFic)?
Saturday 2:00 PM 3:00 PM How Have Computers Changed the Face of
Fan Publications?
Sunday 10:00 AM 11:00 AM Instant Messaging, Email Lists,
Web Publishing and BBS's: Will Fanzines still Exist Tomorrow?
I really haven't prepared for these... don't know how things will go. Bleah.
I expect I'll be at the con late on Thursday... what with sleeping in late and doing laundry and whatever. ^_^
