Sitting in front of my computer after a long day, that's what.

Oh yeh. Technically it's Saturday morning, by 34 minutes. Whatever.

So. Today I got up at the ungodly hour of 8:30 and went to see the dentist. I said, "My tooth hurts". He said, "clamp down on this and don't move, while I operate the dangerous x-ray machine from the safety of another room." I said, "What did you find, doc?" He said, "I don't see any cavities." I said, "But my tooth still hurts." He said, "Hmm, I think I see a crack... you must have a cracked tooth."

What this most likely means is I need a crown. We'll find out later. The worst case scenario, he said, would be a root canal. Actually I think the worst case scenario would be removing the tooth, but he didn't bring that one up. So I'm hoping I can get by with a crown. A porcelein one if I have a choice... don't really want a gold tooth, even on one of my far back teeth.

So after that I tried to go to Tower Records, but there is no Tower Records in Bellevue anymore. At least they didn't charge me for parking in their pay lot for all of five minutes. Then I went to Silver Platters (the Bellevue one of course). What a sad place. Several of the buildings in that little shopping area are empty, including a bookstore next door and an Office Max (Office Max has shut down several stores recently, including the one in Auburn near where I work). Silver Platters had a large section of their store blocked off and empty... they are downsizing, and that means they have fewer cds to offer. I was the only customer in there for the full half hour I was there. Their selection was pathetic. I won't be surprised to see them go out of business.

Come to think of it, the only Silver Platters that still impresses me is the one at Northgate, and even it is not as big as it used to be.

So I came home, goofed off for a while, went to my comic shop, stopped at Pecos Pit BBQ and then went to work. I got a frosty from Wendy's too. Thought I'd test out my cracked tooth, but honesty it's not really sensitive to cold or sweets. What it's sensitive to is strong sharp flavors, like a sour apple Altoids candy or a Spanish green olive, or just normal spicy food.

Anyway I'm off work now, and I have to edit some stuff before the Tai-Pan editorial board meeting tomorrow, but I'm not doing anything about it right at this moment. ^_^ I also need to do my taxes this weekend if I can possibly motivate myself to do so.

At least I finally saw the dentist. And I paid my bills this week. I'd been putting it off because I'm stupid. And then I realized that I only had one box of checks left, and I was worried that I would run out before new ones could arrive, even if I ordered RIGHT NOW. (I had not yet realized that I was going to attempt to pay three bills and mail out a check renewal order form and I only had two stamps to do that with.)

But I noticed that I could order new checks online, and that turned out to be incredibly spiffy. They even take the money straight from your checking account to pay for it, and my order should arrive that much faster, so I'm probably in good shape. ^_^

Weekly comic report... I... um... got the newest Inu-Yasha manga. And the latest Inu-Yasha dvd.

Yep, that was about it for my comics haul. Last week I got the final volume of Paradise Kiss... and read it straight through. Let me tell you, that's one of the best-written mangas I've read in a long while. Very very good. That and maybe Kodacha, hehe. ^_^
