The round robin writer's meeting was... interesting. We only worked on four stories because we had so few writers. The one I started didn't go very far, but it was called "And Then Things Went Horribly Wrong" and included a weapon called an Oozy. I also worked in the phrase "sparkly and explodey things".
Another story that Gene started eventually involved marines driving a three-wheeled ice cream truck, wearing clown heads, and attacking with ice cream bars. Not all of that was my fault, but the battle cry "For freedom! For good humor! For Crunchy the Clown!" was in fact my fault.
When Gene says that all of these stories show promise, he's being generous. But the story that Julie began, while I'm not sure it had fully developed a plot yet, was getting interesting. And Chuck brought a story that did not in fact belong at a round robin party, because it was 8 pages and had a strong plot -- in other words, it was a GOOD start to a story. I don't think what we added ruined it, but I'm not sure that we helped it that much either.
