Demonic Cat Familiar

miko2I'm slowly figuring out my character for Sky's anime-style campaign.
I don't have a name yet. Let's call him Neko. What I know is this:
He's some sort of small cat, but can assume humanoid form. He's actually an artificial life form similar to Ryo-Ohki from Tenchi Muyou, but he's all cat, not a cabbit. (As of now anyway). And he doesn't turn into a spaceship.
Neko was the familiar/side-kick/pet of a powerful demon-hunter. I'm thinking a cross between Yoshou ("grandpa" from Tenchi Muyou, who chased Ryoko to Earth and trapped her there) and Grimjack. Someone with powers beyond those of mortal men.
Unfortunately, the master died. Neko is still alive, and has the master's sword (and outfit, for that matter).
Neko has a variety of abilities, most of them designed to protect himself or the master. He can cook. He can produce mixed drinks apparently from thin air (the master liked to relax with a good drink after a hard battle with demons). He can fly about, teleport, turn incorporeal (similar abilities to Ryo-Ohki and Ryoko from Tenchi Muyou).
He has some cat-like advantages, such as claws and teeth, stealth, heightened senses. He's extremely cute in cat form.
He has a special item, a collar with a large bell on it, that allows him to appear human when in humanoid form. He always wears his bell collar.
He has a kick-ass energy sword that belonged to his master. Aside from being a cool energy sword, it can produce a defensive force field and can detect demons. It's activated via a chainsaw-like pull-cord, and you need to keep pulling on it to charge it because it also has an energy leak.
Neko doesn't really know how to use the sword, of course. He was never trained as a demon-hunter. Everything he knows is from watching the master.
He's easily distracted by movement or anything that can be batted at or chased.
He's living with a senile old lady who found him and took him home. When in human form, she thinks he's her long lost son. She doesn't realize that the son and the cat are one and the same.
He's attending school at Mezurashii Institute. He appears to be a young boy with a large bell on a collar at his neck. He doesn't speak very much.
That's what I've got so far. I'm trying to find ways to make sure his skills and abilities aren't too over-the-top, that he's mostly a defensive-oriented side-kick, who feels the need to carry on his dead master's work, but doesn't really know how to do it.
Mind you, our group could probably use a good demon-bashing hero... I don't think towel-boy fits that mold, and the ancient math professor doesn't either. ^_^
