Even though I've been pretty active on my livejournal entries the last week or three, I notice that I didn't have one last Monday. And as soon as that occured to me, I realized -- it's Tuesday again. I didn't do one THIS Monday either. Can I help it if I'm not on the mood to write anything Sunday after midnight, and I'm usually too busy in the morning, and by the time I get back home it's already Tuesday?

Anyway -- what did I do this weekend? Seems like I must have gone somewhere with Tom on Saturday but I can't remember where. But I did go out and hit Half Price Books. I picked up a book called "The Devil In The White City" which is about the Chicago World's Fair in 1893, and about H H Holmes, who was a serial killer operating in the Chicago area as the fair was going on. Holmes was a very creepy person, and most of your "house of death" type horror stories probably owe a bit to his legacy.

It also makes me think of the song by the Pogues, White City, which is of course about the same fair. One of their better songs too.

Other things I picked up: Chobits dvd vol 2 (which it turns out I already had). Chobits dvd vol 7 (which it turns out I already had). Well, Tom didn't have either of them, and he had vol. 1 so he was happy to take them from me. Turns out I had 1,2, and 7 already... and I also picked up vol. 6, so now I just need 3-5. And I picked up another anime dvd called Someday's Dreamers, which I haven't watched yet but it looked interesting. And two cheap mangas for $4 each -- Aria vol 1 and Blue Interior vol 1.

I remembered that I had a 15% off coupon in my pocket, which I got from the back of their calendar. Usually I forget about these things completely, or when I remember them, the one I have is expired. I expected this to be the case, but it happened to be good through 5/16/05 -- Monday. So I got to use it. Yay!

I stopped at Silver Platters and picked up a few cds. I also remembered the $10 gift certificate I had from Christmas. I forget who gave it to me (sorry!) but in case you're reading this... I picked up the newest cd from Weezer, and I found the latest cd from Finntroll in the bargain bin, and I grabbed several cheap cd singles by Tori Amos. So part of that was my Christmas gift. ^_^

One of the cds of Tori's that I ordered online a week or so ago came -- Scarlet Walk. I've been listening to it, and it's very good.

On Sunday Tom had to drive down to Burien to retrieve a hat he'd left at a Starbucks down there earlier, and I went along and we went to Wonderworld. This was Tom's idea, but he bought nothing. Meanwhile, I spent more money -- blah. I should have more self-control. I picked up Miles, Mystery and Mayhem, which I knew I didn't have yet, and Aria vol 2 and 3, since it seems like a pretty interesting manga, and Azumanga Daioh dvd vol 1, which is apparently a really popular anime series. We watched it when we got home and it is indeed extremely weird and funny. We also stopped at The Old Technology Store on Aurora, which is going out of business, but we found nothing we absolutely had to buy. And we stopped at Gordito's for food.

That was pretty much my weekend. I sent the final version of "The Needler" to Gene, and then spent hours going over my story that is currently titled "Restoring the Lady" and when I was done I sent that off to him. I said I was happy with it -- but of course I was still thinking about it until I went to sleep, and I keep coming up with things I don't like after all. Plus after I sent it to him I went through it again and fixed several minor mistakes, which made me want to send him an even more up-to-date version, but that would be silly, I only fixed a few punctuation and spelling problems.

My internet service has been rock-solid since I bought my own modem. But strangely enough, I've been playing City of Heroes and/or Second Life less and less. Tom and I did play around in CoH for a bit on Saturday, but that was pretty much it.
