I have not written a thing on any of my stories so far this year, but looky looky, I'm putting something into Livejournal each day!
Today I gave notice to my landlords. I made it a written letter in three short parts. Part 1, explaining that I was giving notice that I would be out by the end of the month, and that I wanted to do this now so I would be mostly dealing with them as my landlords and not have to mess around much with the new owners that I don't know. Part 2 was where I explained that since this was my last month I was using the last month's rent and paying the difference between that and the current rent. In Part 3 I said some nice things about how great they were as landlords and how I'd miss them (all very true -- I've been lucky to have them as landlords all these years).
I was a little worried about how they'd take the last month's rent part. In the long run it should make no difference to them, they were going to pay the money to the new owner anyway, but in the short term they might have expected a much bigger check from me that would be in their hands for the next two weeks until they had to pay money to the new owners. But oh well, they're out the same amount of money either way. Anyway when I got home there were no letters waiting for me or messages on the phone, and they didn't come down to say anything to me, so it would seem that everything is Ay Oh Kay.
Now I need to find a new place to move to, hopefully this weekend if I can manage it. I'll plan for the big move on the final Saturday of the month, I guess. ^_^
