miko2My landlords moved to Wenatchee today. When I got home last night they had a car in my parking spot, because they were anticipating maybe having to back a truck up into that spot (wonder of wonders, mine is the only spot that doesn't have extra cars clogging up space and blocking access to the garage). Anyway I parked in one of their spots. As Chuck said, he didn't want to wake me up at 7:30 AM to make me move my car.
Which was pretty immaterial because once the movers started banging things around upstairs it was kind of hard to sleep anyway.
I thought it was strange that Chuck and Carol decided to use the same movers that had moved Tom's stuff. Strange, because Tom moved just a couple of weeks ago, and Chuck talked to the movers then and decided to use them, and I have to wonder, two weeks before you move to Wenatchee and you hadn't already hired someone to do the move?
Well anyway, when I went out to go to work I saw that they had a very big trailer -- at least a 40 foot one, maybe longer -- and naturally had not been able to back it in to the garage, so instead they'd just parked it parallel to the street, blocking in all of the cars in the driveway including mine. I had to get them to move their ramp and direct me out over the sidewalk and around their truck.
I called the apartment manager at the place I'm hoping to move to. She was still waiting for my credit report to come back. I gave her the new phone numbers for my landlords. She still has to contact them for some information and asked again if they had a fax number. Anyway, I'm cool with not signing until the end of the week, she confirmed that they'd prorate the rent for this month, and maybe I have enough to pay my car tabs now. In the meantime, I'm trying to bring lunch with me to work and not spend any extra money. (Usually I eat out every day at work, so I can save money by just not doing that for a while).
I got more boxes from work. ^_^
The cd "The Mob" arrived in the mail today. I'm listening to it now. Reb Beach, Doug Pinnick, etc. It was a German import, and I haven't seen it in any stores over here. I wonder if there's a problem with the name (there is another band out there called The Mob) or some other problem with US distribution. Anyway as it turns out, Doug only sings on the cd (and is credited with songwriting). Bass guitar is provided by the producer, Kip Winger.
It sounds pretty good. ^_^
