Well the whole thing with my domain name was really really stupid. Because I didn't update my information with the people I was registered with, I didn't know that my registration was up. Because I didn't know it was up, I didn't find out until they de-listed me. Because I was de-listed, I couldn't just go to their web site and renew by clicking buttons and filling in information. They wanted me to have my bank wire their bank a bunch of money, or something, and then contact them with the reciept so they knew what to do. They couldn't do it the easy way because of regulations. Erf. Whatever. I figured if I waited long enough, I'd be able to reregister my domain again the old-fashioned way, unless some idiot bought it up. But why in the fricking world would anybody buy such a stupid domain name?
I got no idea, but someone did. So, now I need to figure out what my new domain name is going to be. maisonbellchan.com? Or maybe something more interesting?
Also, who should I register it with? Hopefully not with the idiots in Belgium or wherever that I had to deal with before.
Also, I had e-mail routed through my old domain that I'll never ever see now. And that will make things interesting when I go to change my LJ e-mail, for example, and I can't reply from the old e-mail address. Hrm.
(Well... okay, I changed it, it wasn't that hard. :p )
But on the whole I don't really care much what name my web site goes under. It's mostly just annoying that I'll have to reload everything, but that also gives me the opportunity to change things around, which I probably won't bother to do.
EDIT: MEH
Nobody offered any advise in the half hour after I posted, so I went ahead and registered the domain name postalvalhalla.com. It was a lot cheaper than what the Belgian idiots wanted to re-register my old domain. A LOT cheaper.
