I may be lost, but I'm making good time.

Pulled the side fan and attached it to the back. Secured my blinky-light fan to the side.

Stopped at Fun-Key Computers in Tukwila today, on the way to work. Bought a 40 gig hard drive. I remember when I was excited that 10 gig drives were as cheap as $99.00 at CompUSA. Now, you can barely find 20 gig drives for sale, and the 40 gig drives are only a few bucks more. Mine was $69.00 -- a Samsung. They had Seagates advertised for the same price but the 40 gigs were all sold out. 60 gigs were only about $15 more.

I also picked up a video card. They really didn't have a good selection... I would have preferred to go back to PC Club, but that's way up in Lynnwood. They had a Geforce 4 MX for around $100.00, but it only had 64mb onboard memory... I think the one I tried to buy yesterday was $90.00 and had 128mb, if I'm not confused. They also had a Geforce 4 ti 4200 for $169.00, but with only 64mb memory... again, I seem to recall PC Club having one for as cheap or cheaper with 128mb. Anyway, I decided to get another Chaintech Geforce 3 ti 200 w/128mb. Those were below $150.00, and the one I have has been a good card. Probably more video card than I needed for this project of mine, but whatever, it'll look cool with my neon light flashing off of it.

Speaking of which... I tried to figure out how they had the neon lights anchored in their display models, but it was hard to tell for sure. I think one scre would probably do the trick, and I can mount it on the back or the floor depending on what works best.

After examining the manual that came with my motherboard, I have diagrams that tell me where the green led and sound plugs go, for example. And the plugs are all labelled. Easy then, right? Well... except I'm not positive which direction is up on the diagram, meaning which way should I be looking at the motherboard to match up with the diagram? Nor do I know which way is up on a given plug... which pin is pin #1? If I plug it in backwards or in the wrong place, will everything blow up?

I'm afraid I should probably wait until Michael can help... but I'll have to see what I decide when I get back home.
