I got a fax from Yakima today. I'd sent them a fax asking about charge sheets on the Roadway bills they faxed us -- Roadway turns freight to us for delivery, and the delivery reciepts never have charges, but they always send over copies of the charges printed out from their computer, and Yakima always faxes them to us. But they hadn't done that the last two days. When I couldn't get ahold of our Yakima terminal and didn't get a response from my fax, I called Roadway in Yakima and learned from them that the person who normally prints the charges out and faxes them to us is on vacation. Nobody else knew how to do it. Apparently, printing and faxing are incredibly complicated things to do. I'm thinking Annette (the person on vacation) is a genius, relative to the other people in Yakima. Things seem to completely fall apart when she's gone.

Much later I get this fax from our own terminal in Yakima, pretty much saying the same thing, that nobody knows how to print out and fax charges to us when Annette is gone. The faxed note spells her name "Anet" and includes this marvelous sentence: Person who is felling in do not know how to print them out.

Clearly the work of one of our highly educated drivers.

All this, and we had some freight going to the attention of a person named "Bich Phen". Sometimes you have to wonder, is that really their name, or is it the work of a creative (stoned) driver/dock worker, the type who spells "Annette" with only four letters?

And does his/her mother smile with pride and say, "This is my little Bich"?
