Never Be Prepared
Aug. 13th, 2003 01:21 amThat's probably my motto. On Sunday, I realized that my car tabs had expired. I was able to fix that Monday. Meanwhile, I offered our apartment as a possible alternative gaming site for our game group, only to realize that Tom is working two jobs all week and won't be able to help clean up. And there's waaaay too much cleaning up to do.
So today I realized that my driver's license is also expired as of last month. D'oh! For 10 days I could have been pulled over with expired tabs AND driver's license. Well, I guess I'll have to fix that tomorrow if I get up early enough.
So tonight Toontown seems to be down temporarily, and I decided to install my new hard drive as a second drive on my gaming computer. Opened the computer up, blew out the dust, got my hard drive screwed in... then had to take it out because I'd forgotten to check on how to set the jumpers to slave it. Then I got it all in and plugged in, and was congratulating myself on being smart enough to install a second drive myself, but when I booted up my computer, it was not very happy. I didn't know exactly what to do to make it recognize the new drive, and in the meantime having it connected was causing my computer to freeze up and make whining noises, so I opened it back up and unplugged the thing.
Guess I'll have to talk to Mike or Jeff about what I'm not doing right here. I tried to look up the info online but self-help info that you get online is not always current, so I'd rather just talk to one of my geek friends. ^_^
