miko2: Ranma disguised as a schoolgirl to fool Ryoga (Default)
Tom and I picked up this show on whim last night. It's only 3 episodes long, 90 minutes total. The plot is ludicrous and over-the-top. But it was one of the coolest things I've seen since Cowboy Bebop.

I don't want to spend too much time trying to convince my friends why it's so cool. I mean, I can just show it to you at some point. ^_^ Mainly it's imaginative and wildly original, has a lot of James Bond/Avengers/The Saint cool, sort of like Cowboy Bebop does (although I have a hard time comparing this show to Cowboy Bebop, given the goofy James Bond style plot).

And the other thing is that the main character, I swear, is a Sky heroine. She's a mousy, hesitant, somewhat clumsy, easily disoriented girl with glasses, who also happens to have an amazing superpower. She looks like a Sky character to me.

Even a little bit like Miss Chigwidgeon.

There's an air battle scene over New York that is clearly done before 9-11; they even have the heros crash land on top of what looks like one of the trade towers. That's an unfortunate choice... but otherwise the fight scenes are exciting and imaginative. ^_^
