Aug. 17th, 2004 05:40 amI should go to sleep but for some reason I can't make myself do it.
Monday was okay. I'm sure there are interesting things to say about it, but I forget what they were. Oh, we shipped wood flooring to someone in Kirkland who has the same name as my 2nd cousin, who used to be in jail. He's out now, and his name is so unusual that I'm pretty sure it's really him. Only I have a hard time believing that he owns a house and is installing a new floor in it.
Saturday was weird for me. I stayed up to 7:30 am playing my game (I usually try to go to bed by 4 am or 5 am at the latest). I woke up at 11 am so I could listen to This American Life, which I'd missed Friday night (their fault not mine). Then I was up for a little while longer because I was awake, but finally went back to sleep and slept until 5:30 pm.
After that Tom came home and Brombear was with him, and while Tom disappeared into the computer room Brom and I watched videos past midnight. When Brom fell asleep I left the dvd player running and went to bed too.
Sunday was more normal. I got up at 10 am and played my game for a few hours, and there was still plenty of day left when I logged off! I went to Half Price Books and the grocery store. Among other things I picked up 5 dvds of Saint Tail, one of the classic magical girl anime shows. The animation is dated, the plot and characterization is very basic, and Tokyopop did such an unbelievably bad dub job on them that it rivals the worst of what was being done fifteen years ago. So overall I don't know if I should have picked it up, but what the heck, I got it pretty cheap. :D Anyway I've always been curious about it... it's kind of a schizophrenic setup, given that the magical girl is actually a thief who is guided by a nun.
