The weird things that I do
Dec. 30th, 2005 11:15 amSome of the idiosyncratic habits that I've picked up over the years: I keep a hair brush at my desk at work, and at my desk at home, and at my other desk in my bedroom, and in the car, and in the bathroom. Over the years I've decided that it was too much of a bother to get up and look for the hair brush, so I just keep one in every location I might be when I want one. For the same reason I have multiple nail clippers/nail files and a tube of chapstick in almost every place I would ever think of needing those objects.
I keep a lot of hair scrunchies all over the place for pretty much the same reason, although this doesn't work quite as well because, while I might have several on the desk in front of me, they might not be the one I actually want for any given day.
I like to get up in the morning and plop down in front of my computer in the computer room and then waste as much time playing around on the computer as I'm allowed to. During the week, I know that I have to get up and take a shower and start getting ready to leave for work about an hour before I leave. On the weekend I can find a thousand things to do instead of actually getting up and walking down the hallway to the bathroom and taking a shower. I can goof off for the whole day this way. And it's not as if taking a shower is any great chore; unlike some people I could mention (Tom), I don't take half-hour or 45-minute showers that only end when all of the hot water has vanished. I usually take 10 minutes or less and I'm done. But when I don't have to do it immediately, I often try to find something else to do instead.
This makes it very hard for me to ever leave eary for work... and I'm going to have to learn to do that if I want to start apartment-hunting. ^_^ I would love to move out by the end of January but I probably won't be in a position financially to do that... we'll see.
Today is Friday. It should be a slow day at work, I'll probably get off early. I'm looking forward to watching the Seahawks this weekend, and maybe one of the college bowl games. I have no idea what other plans I have or should have. Oh, I need to mail that story to Dina, I should do that tomorrow (I have a couple of other things I need to mail too). Which also reminds me about the art that I bought for Sky and J'wyl, I need to bring that to the meeting tomorrow. And, hmm, probably have a few things I should copy for Sky. Korpiklaani, etc. I really can't remember what I've given him these days -- like for example, which Shonen Knife cds he hasn't heard yet.
