Friday began when I was awake and lying in bed when my friend Adam (at the time I still only knew him as Inara from Second Life) called. He'd just got in and I had to go to my bank, and he hadn't had any sleep... I made the drive down to Ikea where my credit union is, withdrew money, realized I'm skating on thin ice until next Friday when I get paid again, and then stopped at Taco Time for lunch, where I discovered that the little tiny Taco Time on the far South end of Southcenter offers all kinds of things that my much larger Taco Time in Auburn won't offer -- four choices of salsa, three choices of salad dressing, fish tacos, and above all, the new carnitas spiced pork burrittos that they've been advertising on the radio but which I haven't been able to buy.

So I bought one of those. It wasn't bad.

It only took me 20 minutes to find a parking place again. I kept circling around the back where there was something round and spikey that looked like some sort of scrub brush glove or abandoned stuff animal, but after passing it several times I determined that it was indeed a real live animal of some sort... sorta like a hedgehog or maybe a guinea pig, I couldn't really tell, but not a rat or bunny. It was just sitting there in the rain shivvering, in a busy parkinglot.

I didn't call Adam right away because I thought he might be sleeping. I cruised the dealer's room where I hooked up with Sky and J'wyl and Jared (they'd yanked J'wyl out of registration for a bit). We wandered through the art show as well. Later Sky and I went up to my room to draw and I got on the computer and determined that Adam was playing Second Life, and so I got online and told him to come down and hang out. They after 4 we three went to see the 2 hour Heather Alexander concert, which was very good.

It was too late by that point to show Adam the dealer's den or art show, they'd both closed (he hadn't seen any other part of the con yet). So we decided to try and find everybody for dinner. In an amazing bit of luck and timing, we rode an elevator up to the 8th floor, and when the doors opened up we saw Gene, Julie, Juli, and Keith getting into the elevator across from us, so we just walked across into the other elevator. We had dinner in the bar and had ten people eventually, with Mike, Michael, Kristin, Ieva, Jared, and even Jennifer dropped by to say hello. (I think I got everybody there, not going to do the livejournal links this time though).

Adam and I went to a panel on problems in role-plaing games just to say hi to another friend of ours from Second Life who was there on the panel. He was in a rush to get to his next panel so we followed him into "The Dirtiest Joke In The World". Which was odd. I won't go into it here, if you're curious there's a documentary all about it called "The Aristocrats".

And... we hung out, played Give Me The Brain, did other things. You know. It's a con. ^_^
