Aug. 9th, 2006 09:47 pmI had my physical today. I haven't heard back from the lab results portion yet, but otherwise the doctor found very little wrong with me. My blood pressure is a bit high, that's not surprising really, and he reccomended walking 45 minutes a day and taking a low-dose aspirin every day.
As for my side hurting, he thought it looked a little red and suggested that it might be shingles, and that if it broke out in a rash to come back in. I said the pain was not on my body surface but he said that's normal. But Stephanie at work said that she'd had shingles and this sounded nothing like it. Then Ellie asked me about the kind of pain I was having, and suggested it was gall stones. When the pain increased a great deal for an hour or two after I ate dinner, she asked what I'd had -- lentil soup. Anything that causes gas will make make a gall bladder with gall stones ache a great deal, I guess. When the pain faded after a couple of hours, I became almost convinced that Ellie has it right. Guess we'll see what the lab experts report tomorrow. If that's it, then there's a good chance my problems can be solved very easily (according to the people I work with).
It was a long day. I got up at 7:30 am to make it to my appointment. Friday I'm supposed to come in 2 hours late and work until 11 pm to cover for Jim, then I do the same thing all next week to cover for Ellie.
