My game computer seems to have suffered some sort of serious crash.
I was playing City of Heroes when the game locked up. I tried to do an End Task from the program manager, but it didn't seem to be working. I rebooted... and now my computer fails to boot.
After verifying DMI Pool Data it says "NTLDR is missing" and tells me to Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot. Which brings me back to the same message.
And all I wanted to do was relax and play my game for an hour or so... :p
After consulting with
miertam and determining that my hard drive was dead, I am now in the process of installing windows after replacing the dead 80 gig drive with a 120 gig drive that I happened to have lying around (it was my old main music file hard drive, before it got too full... I now have a 300 gig music hard drive and a 150 gig backup drive, so the 120 gig was not being used). Yay! Fun way to spend the evening!
At the same time, I'm installing City of Heroes/Villians on my bedroom computer. Actually that part's done, it's just doing an update that should last an hour or more.
Fun fun and more fun.
Oh, and I think I just wiped out my backup music hard drive... yay! I get to back up 130 gig of music all over again!
Crap... I just realized that not only did I lose iTunes, but the folder that I used to sync with my iPod. That damned folder took me about 4 hours to set up with all of my favorite songs... and this will be the third $%@#$%@#$% time in six months that I've had to go through my music file and select the songs I want to put onto my iPod.
My iPod crashes regularly... I have to reset it at least once ever 6-8 weeks, restore it to factory settings and reload all of my music. What a pain.
