Aug. 23rd, 2007 05:17 pmSo I haven't played much City of Heroes in the last couple of weeks. Still played 2-3 nights in the last week for a few hours. If I can keep it like that I can get other things done.
So... am I getting other things done?
That depends. I did write and publish two new chapters of my anime fanfic Girls School. Last Saturday I managed to cobble together the first five scenes or so of a story I call Nerima All-Stars, which I'm not ready to publish yet (I did read what I had at writer's night). Then I spent a day contemplating finishing I Can See Clearly Now, a simple five chapter story I began ages ago that I still haven't finished. I also tried to work on Girl's School a bit more, and read some more fan ficiton, and read some more Pratchett. I'm simultaneously working my way through Men At Arms and also listening to Thud! on cd.
The last few days I've been reading Muyami Academy my biggestboondoggle epic fan fiction story. It stands at 14 chapters and 140,000 words, and I'm still dealing with a major plot I began 10 chapters ago. I had only published 6 chapters at Fanfiction.net and on my own web site I had incomplete versions of chapters 13 and 14 up, so yesterday I posted chapters 7-14 at Fanfiction.net. And... I got zero comments in the first 24 hours. This has less to do with how good or bad the story is, or how long it's been since I updated it (six years, roughly, at least at FF.net), and much more to do with the fact that few people are interested in such a massively multi-anime crossover story. When I post a new chapter of Girls School I get a ton of comments.
I do at least want to try and finish up the current plot of the story, which will probably involve several more chapters. I was also going to cover everything that happened with Kagato in the original Tenchi Muyou series, which would eat up more chapters. I have many big plans, but whether I can ever manage to pull them all off remains unanswered... as does the question of whether more than 10 or so people will even care.
As you can see... I've been writing, and thinking of writing, but as usual I have trouble sticking to one thing. Maybe that's why I like Muyami Academy, both because I've stuck with it longer than anything else I've written, and because it's too big to be just one thing... it's everything I ever liked about high school anime shows, all tossed together in a massive mess. Although largely it ends up being a Devil Hunter Ranma Tenchi Muyou kind of story, I guess.
