inaratalamasca and skyoxford and everyone else (okay, miertam, typographer, kehf, dolphinchatter, jeffreycornish, geojlc, and... several others. jwyldragon. I forget who else.) Most of yesterday.
We made plans after dinner to hit the dealer's room and then go back to our rooms (typographer's room is next door to ours) for some card games but skyoxford wanted to stop by his room first. inaratalamasca and I followed him there... and then we sat around talking all evening. Eventually quite a crowd came in, including activegnome and... other con people whose lj handles I don't remember or know. We never did play any games, and when we got back to our own room dolphinchatter and Juli were asleep, so that was it for our day too. It was 12:40 AM by that point after all. ^_^
I usually get up at 5:00 AM, so I decided at 7:00 AM that I couldn't sleep anymore and went on walkabout. I walked down the stairs from the 7th floor, then back up to the 10th floor because going down isn't much of a workout... then I went back down the stairs and walked through the hotel and out to the end of the 500B wing, which is a good 8 or 10 minute walk I suppose. When I came backgeojlc was in registration eating an apple before they started setting up, so I talked to her for a few minutes, then I walked back out to the end of the 500B wing, back again, and up the stairs to our room on floor 7. Not a bad workout I guess.
Yesterday I bought a very nice dark green renfair-type shirt, and a brass pendant with a 7-pointed star design on it (they said it was a "fairy star"). I've probably already spent as much money as I want to as far as buying things this con; the rest of my money should be for the room and food, I think. We'll see.
I'm not participating in the LJ strike today. I pay for my account, and I don't believe that I have a God-given right to an absolutely free, no-advertising access to a journal site like this one. LJ has done some stupid things, but deciding that they can't give things away for free forever is not one of them.
