Apr. 29th, 2008 11:18 amI spent the weekend doing stuff, and so I felt like I didn't get anything done. I don't know why my brain works like that, but it does. Normally I might have spent the whole weekend in my apartment playing City of Heroes or Second Life, only taking the time to go for a walk (exercise) or get something ready for my lunches the next week. Instead, on Saturday I left early enough to meet
skyoxford at
typographer's house so we could run around all day. We hit Uwajamaya/Kinokuniya and Fry's. I spent a bit of money at Kinokuniya (bought two manga)and also for lunch, and then I spent money at Fry's (but only to buy a gift for
miertam, nothing on myself). I spent a little more at the Ballard Market to get pop and a few other things. Not a lot of money really, but after trying to save money and not spend money for the last few weeks, I felt like I'd gone hog-wild spending money.
I *did* order some cds off of Amazon the day before, too. Only $20.00 total, three of them were of the .50 cents per cd plus shipping and handling variety. Still, I've spent money.
Then on Sunday I went with
jeffreycornish and
miertam to go see The Forbidden Kingdom. I enjoyed the movie a lot. We went to dinner afterwards. I didn't spend a lot of money because someone else was being very generous that day, but by the end of the day I was getting home at 9 pm and I only had an hour or so to do stuff before going to bed, and I felt... like I hadn't accomplished anything all weekend. You know, I hung out with friends, I saw a movie, I had a nice dinner, I talked a lot... instead of being a hermit... and I accomplished nothing?
Because I hadn't actually done my exercise -- we did walk to the theater and back -- and I hadn't prepared for lunches for the week. So it was just a feeling that I should have gotten more accomplished. I think when I don't exercise it affects how I feel in general, too.
Monday night I had to cut my walk short because it decided to rain in earnest, but I did take the time to make wrap sandwiches for the rest of the week. I used thinly sliced carrots, celery, and orange bell peppers, and I added cilantro, and then I had a salad mix of canned chicken with some saffola pretend mayo to which I added green onions, spices, and a little olive oil and red wine vinegar (in retrospect I probably didn't need the pretend mayo at all). I thought that the canned chicken would be cooked, but since it didn't look like it I cooked it in the skillet and added some lemon and pepper while I was doing that.
Then I made six wrap sandwiches. I ate two today. They were quite good, although they could probably use some jalapeno. I forgot that part -- not spicy enough. But the point is, I feel much more accomplished for having just taken care of lunches for a few days. ^_^
I actually wrote a bit last night, albeit on one of my non-Tai-Pan, non-fanfic original stories that I'll probably never finish.
