I played CoH when I got home, and so it wasn't until 7 pm that I went out for a walk. Lucky for me the sun goes down much later this time of year. ^_^

I think it was last Thursday that I found the dime and kept it instead of giving it to the kid standing next to me. Since then I haven't found anything. If I believed in curses, I'd probably say I cursed myself by not being generous and giving the dime to the kid. Or I might say that I used up a lot of karma on a whole dime, or something.

I stopped at Fred Meyers on the way home from work and bought groceries. While the checker was rining me up I found a dime on the floor. At first I set it on the little check writing counter, on the theory that if it fell on the ground it probably came from her register. She showed no interest in it, so I picked it up again, trying to decide if I should just pocket it. But they have those charity change boxes there, and I realized that was the best compromise, to toss it into the charity box. After doing it I thought, "And maybe that will break my curse!"

So... I walked around the apartment complex three times, finding nothing. Three times is about thirty minutes, the bare minimum walk time I set for myself. I knew I really should walk 4 times around - 40 minutes. But I also knew that I was probably just going to head straight to my apartment when I drew near it.

Then I decided to turn around and walk the other way. I know it's silly, but that way I'm on my fourth and last lap but I didn't pass by my apartment first. And, I thought, "Maybe this will break my curse!"

I found two pennies on the last lap. Coincidence?

Well, of course it is. :p
