Sep. 19th, 2008 11:07 amI've been really really bad about posting to LJ lately. So, the bad:
1. Haven't posted a song of the day all week. I'm wondering if/when I should just give up on the whole thing. ^_^
2. Haven't posted a general "what's up with me" kind of post in 2 or 3 weeks at least.
3. Haven't been especially good about saving my money.
The good:
1. I've been good about walking an hour nearly every day.
2. I've been working on my Ranma 1/2 fanfic story Girl's School. I posted chapter 13 about 3 weeks ago, then I posted chapter 14 last Thursday. I managed to finish chapter 15 last night, although I want to take a few days to make sure I'm cutting it off at the right place for a good cliffhanger, and to go through it one more time. I've never used pre-readers for this story so it's all on me to make sure it reads well before posting.
On the subject of my fan fiction: Over the years I've tended to treat my fan fiction as "non-serious" fluff that I do for fun -- less serious than my Tai-Pan writing anyway. However, here's something to consider. The number of people that read one of my Tai-Pan stories is limited to maybe a couple hundred at the very most -- more likely less than 100 ever read one of those.
Fanfiction.net provides statistics for your stories hosted at their site. According to them, last Friday, not long after I'd posted chapter 14 of Girl's School, I had 656 visitors and 1.84k total hits.
In one day! O_o
