End in Sight
Nov. 25th, 2008 02:28 pmSo when I started NaNoWriMo this year, I waited almost a week before I really started writing. I was waaay behind from the start. I figured I probably would not actually catch up, but if I could manage 30,000 words or so that would still be good.
By the end of today I'm supposed to have 41,650 words written (based on averaging 1,666 words a day). At the moment, before I've even left work for the day, I'm at 41,000 words.
:D
Even better is the feeling that I've completed chapters 16 through 21 and should have chapters 22 and 23 done by the end of the month. They will need some editing before publication, but not a whole lot, I think. Best of all, chapter 23 should conclude my big Genma kidnapping plot story, which would leave me with maybe 1 chapter for wrap up before I can insert all of the chapters I wrote last year for my "magical girls" story arc. Those will need a bit of editing, too, of course... some sections more than others.
But I feel very accomplished because chapter 21 wraps up nearly all of my first-week plots, and chapters 22-24 should take care of all of my other ideas. The magical girls story arc was never finished, so I have things to write past the 50,000 words that I wrote last year... but overall I have a very big story here and I've managed to tell most of what I set out to tell. That feels good. ^_^
