Jul. 29th, 2009 01:48 pmIt's supposed to hit 100 degrees farenheit here today. I grew up in Salem OR where such temperartures weren't too unusual this time of year, but in the roughly 25 years I've lived in Seattle it's never been that hot.
I still went walking yesterday. I've been a bit lazy about this recently, skipping a day here or there, and I'd skipped Monday because it was "too hot". Never mind that our mini-heatwave was only just getting started. So I went walking for roughly 45-50 minutes. It was hot, but I felt good for doing it.
I'm lucky that I live in a basement apartment with windows facing East -- and uphill, and shaded by a lot of trees. So I don't get much sun, and the apartment stays relatively cool (compared to the others anyway, I'm sure.)
I had a nice salad today, made of fresh lettuce from a coworker's garden and some tomatoes that I had in the fridge. There was enough for a salad for tomorrow too.
I watched Romancing the Stone last night. I was in the mood for it. "Joan Wilder? The Joan Wilder?" :D
