Feb. 9th, 2010 12:21 pmOne thing I remember about my grandmother is that she always had a little bowl full of hard candies. They were hardly my favorite candy, but they were right there out in the open, and what kid can resist that? They were always stuck together really tightly too, partly because they'd probably been sitting there for a while. Adults leave candy lying around and rarely eat it, kids eat it up quickly.
I buy sugarless hard candy on occasion to put in my desk drawer at work (the kind that comes individually wrapped). I don't actually eat it very often, and I tend to eat the ones I like, which leaves me with a bunch of hard candy I don't like very much that sits around for a long time before I decide to eat one.
So it occurs to me that I'm like my grandmother in that respect.
I went walking after work yesterday. It was cold but the sun was out. It was nice. As I walked away from where I work, one of our drivers stopped and asked what was wrong and if I needed a ride. As I walked back an hour later, one of my coworkers asked me if I needed a ride.
I work with nice people. ^_^
