Sunday after work I took a walk on the Interurban trail. I went North. I used to walk North on the trial a lot, but ever since my car was broken into, I've left it in the parking lot at work instead of driving 3 blocks South to the parking lot on the trail. Then I walk South, since walking North would either mean walking 3 blocks South first, or cutting across the railroad tracks and across a small stream to get to the trail. I'd injured my leg jumping that stream last Winter, so I'd avoided crossing it since, and it seemed kind of dumb to walk 3 blocks South and then walk North.

However I'd discovered that the little stream is currently dried up, making it easy to cross. So I crossed it and walked North. When I go South, I walk as far as the Auburn Supermall and the road that it's on. When I go North, I walk past Emerald Downs and turn around at the road North of there. It's a bit longer of a walk, about 50 minutes or so for the walk South and nearly an hour for the walk North.

As I was headed back after turning around, a train passed me. It slowed, then came to a stop, blocking the path back across the tracks... so I had to walk 3 blocks further South to Main St. and cross there, then come back. That made the walk more than an hour, but also that's the same length as when I used to walk from the parking lot off of Main St.

So that was a really good walk. I think I need to make more walks of over an hour, instead of the 40-50 minutes I usually manage.

On Sunday I walked all the way up to the market at the top of Lea Hill. That's at least 30 minutes each way, so again that's a longer walk than I normally make. I bought some bell peppers and cheese, and when I got back home I browned some ground turkey, cooked some brown rice, then mixed it all together with taco seasoning, a can of diced tomatoes and a can of diced jalapenos. Then I put it in 4 hollowed out bell peppers and cooked it for 38 minutes, with the cheese on top. That's my lunch for this week (4 days at least). I just ate one and it tasted yummy!

This weekend is the huge garage sale in the neighborhood where my parents live. It's a massive neighborhood-wide garage sale, with police and food vendors and everything. I've never gone, but I want to get rid of a bunch of stuff, so part of the weekend was spent going through all my books and pulling out anything I don't really need. I've freed up several shelves at the very least.
