Oct. 22nd, 2006 01:46 pmI have a breadmaking machine that I haven't used in 2-3 years. I was in the mood to make some bread last night -- some nice whole wheat of some sort that would be healthy and good. I got my recipe book out and soon determined that I still had the whole wheat flour and oat bran and wheat gluten that the recipe called for... but I didn't have any yeast or honey.
So this morning I decided first thing to go to the store and pick up just a few things. Yeast. Honey. Milk. Maybe some meat for dinner or for lunch the first part of the week. Maybe some fresh fruit for lunch too -- I've been buying a few apples and oranges to eat at work for snacks and that sort of thing. Oh, and some grapes, those are always good, and some strawberries to put in my cereal... and come to think of it, I could get a new box of that cereal I like.
Stamps. I need to remember to get stamps. And... hmm, I'm pretty low on oat bran, and it's on sale. So it the whole wheat flour. Not that I need it right now, but in anticipation of the bread being yummy and me doing this again... I should grab both. And look, there's a new flavor of the low carb/sugar yogurt smoothies that I like! Oh, and I need some more of that Aquafinia flavorsplash water that I drink at home.
Anyway... my short trip for "just a couple of things" wound up costing me $50.00 in groceries. :p But my kitchen smells of whole wheat bread, so there's nothing wrong with that!
