Today's Song: AC DC by Joan Jett

I discovered the video to Joan Jett's AC DC while working on another song of the day entry last week. I loved the song, and downloaded it from iTunes immediately. The video, by the way, features Carmen Electra.

Few people that I've read online seem to realize that this song is a cover. The original tune appeared on Desolation Boulevard by bubblegum metal/glam metal act The Sweet, best remembered for their hits Little Willy, Bar Room Blitz, Fox on the Run, and Love Is Like Oxygen. Both Bar Room Blitz and Fox on the Run appear on Desolation Boulevard, and since those used to be favorite songs of mine when I was young, I own this cd. It's a very good cd -- full of glam metal/hard rock. AC DC is a good song, and it works perfectly as a Joan Jett song.

I've always loved Joan Jett and she really hasn't done a new studio cd in about ten years. She's around 50 now, but still looks and sounds as good as ever. You can compare for yourself. Two other favorites of hers:

I Love Rock N Roll (her first big hit,from Spring 1982, my graduation year ^_^ )
