Today's Guest Song of the Day: Wasted by Carrie Underwood
On the theory that it's a short week and quite a few people at work have taken part or all of the week off, I thought I'd take the week off from posting songs of the day too. Or rather, I'd have other people do it.
Well, okay, I just asked other people to name a favorite song. I still have to do all of the work, and I even am downloading these songs so I can check them out for myself.
My coworker B is a country fan, and said that she really likes this song by Carrie Underwood. Carrie is, of course, the winner of the fourth season of American Idol, and has gone on to sell millions of country music records.
This is a nice country tune with an upbeat message. It's processes country pop music, but it's nicely done. Probaly one of the best points I could make is that Carrie really does have a great singing voice. No doubt anyone that wins American Idol is going to have a good voice. I don't watch American Idol, but it's actually good to know that it's more than just a silly show -- that the people who make it to the finals really do have a music career ahead of them, and the talent to pull it off.
