Today's Song: Final Countdown by The Toy Dolls
Because everyone needs a cheesy European pop metal tune played on a dozen kazoos. Seriously, only the legendary Toy Dolls could make Europe's overplayed song listenable again... or at least more of a joke than the original. I love it. ^_^ I thought the kazoos in Livin' La Vida Loca were funny, but this song takes it to another level!
They've got an interesting download page on their web site, where you can download covers of Toy Dolls songs by other bands. I like the cover of Dig That Groove by Lolita #18, which appears to be a Japanese band (the song is sung with a very thick accent which nevertheless also does a good job of mimicking Olga's British accent).
On another page you can download one mp3 from nearly every cd they've ever done. I reccomend: Dig That Groove, Bless You My Son, The Ashbrooke Launderette, I'm A Telly Addict, and Yul Brynner Was A Skinhead. Of course, I have most of those already. ^_^ There's still 2-3 cds of theirs that I need to get though.
I don't have a link to their Final Countdown, but here are some other Toy Dolls links:
