Today's Song: Revelations by Audioslave

The single/lead track from Audioslave's third and last cd by the same name. Since I did a song by Velvet Revolver for Saturday, I decided to do one from the last Audioslave cd for today, even though I haven't picked it up yet. I will, eventually. Like Velvet Revolver, I like this band -- it's good hard rock, but nothing i have to rush out and buy the moment it becomes available. I'll probably pick up Chris Cornell's new solo cd too. Maybe I should feature a song from that tomorrow.

I like Chris Cornell's voice, which is a funny thing to say because back when I first heard Soundgarden (Louder than Love) I couldn't for the life of me understand why people thought they were good, or why Chris Cornell was considered a good singer. But he's consistently gotten better and better over the years, at both singing and writing.

I was never a huge fan of Rage Against the Machine or Zach De La Rosa, so when Cornell joined the other guys and formed Audioslave I found it a more interesting band (even if they were more conventional and less political). I guess at the moment nobody knows what's up with these guys. At first I heard that Zach was back with the Rage boys, and Chris was out, but as it turns out, Zach just joined them for a few reunion Rage Against the Machine shows, nobody knows if they're going to reform Rage permenantly. Meanwhile Chris already had some issues with Audioslave, he wasn't happy that he wrote all of the songs but everyone equally shared in the publishing rights. So who knows, the other three guys may pair up with yet another singer from somewhere else and continue as Audioslave, or come up with a new third name. Hey, maybe Axl Rose is available? Heh.
