Today's Song: Knock On Wood by Amii Stewart

Amii Stewart scored a huge #1 hit with her disco cover of Eddie Floyd's Knock On Wood, which was and probably remains my all-time favorite disco song. In the United States she's considered a one-hit wonder, with only that one song scoring on the charts, but actually she's had a career in Europe that has spanned more than three decades. She's still mostly known for doing song covers, but of course she expanded beyond disco to cover a variety of song styles. She's lived in Italy since the mid 1980's.

Although this is essentially a disco song it has a very funky feel to it, and great vocals, which are two of the reasons I've always liked it so much.
