This won't be a news flash to many of my friends, but Sweden's Garmarna is one of my favorite folk-rock bands. One of my favorite bands, period. I'd call them a near-perfect blend of folk and rock, but then I kind of think the same thing of Varttina and Yat-Kha, among others. But anyway, Garmarna are very, very good.
My two favorite songs of theirs are Gamen (Vulture) from the cd Vengeance and Varulven (Werewolf) from the cd Guds Spelmen (God's Musicians). As it happens these are their two most popular downloads from iTunes, but only Gamen can be found on Youtube, so that's the one I picked. But they're both very fun hard rock/folk tunes. These songs have been favorites of mine for many years now, and I never get tired of them.
