When I picked up those two Spirited Away posters at my comic shop last week, I also got a free pass for 2 people for the opening of the movie on Tuesday, Sept 17, 7 pm, at the GUild 45th. I can't go. Does Sky (or anyone else) want this?

Of course, I'll want to go see this on the following Saturday or Sunday. ^_^

I got another FSB cd today. Pinkish Orange. So I need to make a copy for Sky. Also got a cd single. I'm reaching a point where I can't buy new FSB cds, because there aren't any more available... I'm still missing several of the earlier ones, of which only Endorphine can be ordered from CD Japan. That means I have to find Power Groove, In Trance, and Funky Side Business elsewhere (I think that's it for the early ones). For the monthly FSB cds, I'm only missing the first one, which isn't available from CD Japan. I might be able to get it elsewhere though, for a highly inflated import price. After that, I don't have their greatest hits cd (not sure I need it) and I failed to pick up their Live cd "Feels So Best Live" which was a limited edition and vanished just a few months later. Wah! I should have grabbed it when I had the chance!

And then there's a bunch of singles, some of which have material not found on the cds. I might have to start collecting those. ^_^

Also I discovered something about their 12 monthly cds. Their web site has lists of song titles for all of their cds up to "Pinkish Orange" (their 10th monthly title). These are titles in "Romanji" ie the Roman alphabet, so that even if I don't know Japanese I can pronounce the words. And what I discovered was that most of their 12 monthly cds have a song with the word "Pochi" in it. As in "Pochi to Drive" on Trick or Treat, "Pochi no Orusuban" on Rock N Roll Hymn, "Pochi no Daidasshou" on Groovy Missile, "Pochi no Season" on Chocolate Bomb!, "Pochi no Daiketsusin" on Son of a Bitch 2000, "Pochi no Ketsukonsiki" on Across A Rainbow, "Pochi no Kosodate" on Get Happy!, "Pochi no Ayamachi" on Psychic Virus, "Pochi no nyobo? Ai wo shinjitai?" on Pinkish Orange, and presumably two more Pochi songs on the final two cds that I don't have Romanji song titles for.

As far as I know, "Pochi" is not an odd Japanese word, it is the name of their dog. There are at least two places in all of the albumns where you hear them talking to the dog "Pochi" and he gets to bark along with the song. I haven't yet gone back to figure out if those two songs are "Pochi" songs but they probably are. So, apparently, every monthly cd except the first one they did a song about their dog.

What a weird, cool band. ^_^

Also I need to lend something else to Sky... having finally picked up a cd by Sleater-Kinney, a girl punk/rock band from Olympia that has been a critic favorite for years (hailed by many as one of the best bands out there)... I can now say that the critics are pretty much on target, this is a great band. ^_^ And knowing how Sky likes Belly, Breeders, Throwing Muses... I'm fairly certain he'll dig Sleater-Kinney too. They have an unusual lineup... drums and two guitars, no bass. But it works, and they're good song writers.
