Today's Song: Dark Chest of Wonders by Nightwish

I'm so sad. I desperately want to buy the new Nightwish track Amaranth but it's not available from iTunes. I'm seriously addicted to it at the moment. I can listen to it three ways: as a kickass video on Youtube, as an expensive ($14.49) cd single that I could order through Amazon.com if I'm feeling desperate enough (I almost am) or as a promo mp3 that I found and downloaded online, which has "you are listening to a promotional copy of the new Nightwish single Amaranth" spoken over the music not once, but twice during the performance.

Which, you know, is fair I suppose. But I like the song. I must have an un-promo'd copy! It must be mine, my precious!

Actually someone is offering the cd for sale on Ebay. "This CD Is Brand New & Unplayed, Not A Copy!!" But according to the band's own web site, the cd will not be released until Sept 28, 2007. I smell bullshit. And they're offering it for what seems a reasonable price too, $21.71. And it's from someone with a very long and favorable history on Ebay... but something doesn't add up. Either it's not the real cd or he doesn't plant to ship it until he actually gets his hands on it... or something.

So... per my own rules I can't actually make Amaranth my song of the day. Instead I pick Dark Chest of Wonders
