Today's Song: Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow by Jethro Tull

My favorite Jethro Tull cds are Heavy Horses and Songs from the Woods. For those two cds, they were at their most folkish, mixing rock and folk in a way that they usually don't do -- normally Jethro Tull is essentially rock music with a flute. I read online that Ian Anderson had moved to a house in the country around that time and it apparently inspired him to write more folkish tunes.

Anyway, Jethro Tull's Christmas cd from 2003 is very much in the same vein -- folkish, which works well for a cd of Christmas tunes. This is one of those cds I probably should have picked up a long time ago but I still haven't. However, I downloaded a couple of tunes from eMusic last week, and one of them is Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow -- an original Ian Anderson tune that would fit very well on the two cds I mentioned above. ^_^

No video for this one, sorry about that! But here's a fun video full of animated mice, set to a classic folk-rock Tull tune: Jethro Tull's One Brown Mouse which comes from the albums I mentioned.
