Today's Song: Love Train by The Yayhoos

skyoxford reccommended this alt country group to me. They're fronted by former members of the Georgia Sattelites, The Del Lords, and Woods... so you get the same kind of folk country rock mix that you get with singer/songwriter super groups like the Travelling Wilburys and The Lost Dogs. Almost by definition you get great songs written by people who have been doing that sort of thing for years.

What he didn't tell me was that they like to do out-of-left-field song covers -- the kind of stuff I always like. How about a country-rock version of ABBA's Dancing Queen? How about the B52's Roam? I like 'em both, and downloaded them from eMusic... but perhaps even better is their take on the O'Jay's big hit Love Train:
