Today's Song: Crushed to Dust by Green Carnation
Green Carnation is one of the metal bands I've been listening to a bit over the last few months. They are a band from Kristiansand, Norway, and like several Scandinavian bands started out as a black/death metal band and grew progressively more commercial -- or at least, progressively more progressive; they've never been too successful. They are usually considered a progressive rock/metal band and sometimes as an art rock band, but their output has ranged from a single-track epic 60 minute long metal opus (Light of Day, Light of Darkness, highly regarded and also considered one of the longest rock songs ever) to an all-acoustic album (Acoustic Verses).
This particular song is from their more straight-ahead commercial metal era, I think. I like it quite a bit.
