Strangely enough, while I can buy the Goanna cd on Amazon for a reasonable price but can't find it on ITunes or anywhere else for download, this song I could only get the cd for if I wanted to spend something around $50.00, but on the other hand I was able to track it down on iTunes and download it for .99 cents. Ah well. I can't say that I'm that enamoured with the song -- it's an ok pop tune, but if you're from Australia it's, I don't know, like playing Born In The USA here, or something. (Not that I ever really liked that song either.) I picked it up mostly so I could play it for my friend next time. ^_^
GANGgajang - Sounds of Then (This is Australia)
So I guess any rock mix of songs about Australia should include:
Great Southern Land by Icehouse
Land Down Under by Men at Work
Solid Rock (Sacred Ground) by Goanna
Sounds of Then (This is Australia) by GANGgajang
After that I expect you can fill in with your favorite tracks from Midnight Oil, Paul Kelly, Hunters & Collectors, INXS, Silverchair, AC/DC, Yothu Yindi, Crowded House, Outback, Wolfmother, Boom Crash Opera, etc.
