Today's Song: Ego by the Sounds

I own a cd by the Sounds that I picked up used a few years ago. I think they were recommended as a Blondie-style band. Anyway, they're a pop band from Sweden I think, and their name came up again recently, either because I was researching power pop bands or maybe it was just because they had a song called Dance With Me and for a while I put a whole bunch of songs with that same name on my iPod.

In any case, I realized that they're still around and making good music, and I liked their older stuff, so I downloaded one of their newer songs -- this one, Ego. It's been on my iPod for a couple of weeks now and I like it a lot.

They really do have a kind of Blondie vibe thing going. Which is good, Blondie was always one of my favorite bands, especially their early stuff. Plastic Letters has a lot of power pop in it, you know.
