Today's Song: Mercy by Duffy
Duffy is a young Welsh singer who takes all of her cues from pop and soul singers of the past. In this particular song the sound of Motown girl groups is very strong, so you know I'm going to like it. And it's good.
I heard her interviewed on NPR this morning and I really liked the clips they played. Within ten minutes I'd checked her out on iTunes and then, since I was at work, I downloaded two tracks from Amazon.com instead (to get mp3's instead of Apple's mp4's that would be associated with my work computer... which I didn't need)... I listened to them a bit over the next hour, put them on my thumb drive, took them home, put them on my computer and my backup as well, put them on my iPod, and burned a disc with them on it so I could play it in the car on my trip down to Longview.
Ain't modern technology grand?
Duffy -- Mercy
The other song I downloaded is the title track from her cd:
Duffy -- Rockferry A nice soul song.
