Friday night I stopped at Target on the way home to pick up some stuff. They sell very large containers of raw nuts that include pistachios and walnuts -- at a good price, so I like to pick one up once in a while so I have something around that's healthier to snack on than, say, chips, crackers, cookies or whatever.

I checked out the George Foreman grills to see what they sold for. The same grill that I bought for $29.99 at Fred Meyers was $39.99 at Target, so that made me happy. Then I saw some cheap waffle makers. I routinely make pancakes with a Kodiak whole wheat batter that is low on sugar and empty carbs, and I'd thought that maybe it would be cool to have a waffle maker. These were very cheap -- $10.00 -- so while I was gathering up the other stuff I was buying I thought about it, and came back to look again. I'd just about decided that I didn't need to bother when I noticed that they were actually on sale for only $8.00.

Well, I've probably spent more than $8.00 on a single waffle breakfast, so I couldn't see any reason not to do it. I made waffles on Saturday and they came out great. ^_^

This weekend was double experience weekend for City of Heroes. I spent much of Sunday playing, and gained something like 6 levels on my robotics controlling Master Mind, Mia Nevermore. Over the entire weekend I think I went from level 31 to level 41, quite a good jump, and I didn't even play her Friday.

Yesterday after work I went biking on the interurban trail again. This time I went further South than before -- last time I'd stopped at some point in South Algona I think, where there was a major road and you weren't allowed to cross right where the trail was. I went down to the corner crosswalk, waited for the light, crossed, then continued on. Past that point the trail is in a much worse state of repair, with cracks and grass growing up through all over. I get the impression that this part of the trail isn't used much. It doesn't really go that much further either -- several blocks at most, before it comes to the end. There's a gravel parking lot for people using the trail, and across the street there's a lowered section of the sidewalk as if they had planned to build the trail beyond that point some day, but past that is just brush and a small ravine I think. No more trial.

It took me about 25 minutes at most to ride that far, so a round trip was maybe 50 minutes at most. That seems like a pretty good workout. Maybe next time I should head North again and see how far into Kent I can ride. In the meantime, I spent a good 10 minutes or more trying to inflate my tires but the front tire seemed pretty flat only halfway through my ride. I need to do something about that, my tires just don't want to stay fully inflated.
