Today's Song: Dyin' to make a Livin' by Foddershock
Today's song is one that's been my f avorite for many years now. Foddershock used to be an incredibly obscure band, but they now have a web site and a myspece page, where you can listen to this excellent song about the hard life of a coal miner.
These guys (I think the band is just two people) are not a blazing-fast bluegrass band, but I do think of them as bluegrass of a sort... or alt country, or alt folk, or something. They describe themselves as "Appalachian dysfunctional folk rock". As far as I know they never tour and they sell all of their music out of their own place. If you want one of their albums, you write directly to them. ^_^
