Today's Song: Born to Raise Hell by Motorhead

So in their usual jerk-ass fashion, eMusic reset my downloads days before the end of the month. See, I pay a monthly fee for 40 downloads, but if I don't use all of them by the end of the month I lose them, and eMusic likes to say "well, it's the end of the month" up to a week early. I had about 9 downloads left and then they were gone. It's impossible to know when they're going to reset my account, so I just need to make sure to use up all of my downloads early if at all possible.

With that in mind, when I went looklng for the Motorhead song "Ace of Spades" last week (for my little "Iron Man" playlist of old-school heavy metal songs), I decided to download a few other songs of theirs from eMusic. Motorhead is a bit like AC/DC in that they keep things simple and basic and don't try to get fancy. They're one of those bands that Spinal Tap might have been patterned after. So while I don't know that I would want to own a lot of their cds, it seemed well worth the time to own more than just the most famous song of theirs I could name.

I discovered something along the way -- Lemmy (lead singer/guitarist and founder of Motorhead) was previously in the progressive rock band Hawkwind. How odd.

Anyway, here's one of the songs I downloaded. ^_^
