Today's Song: Thriller by Michael Jackson
Because Michael is partying with the zombies now.
Since these things happen in threes: R.I.P. Michael Jackson, R.I.P. Farrah Fawcett, and R.I.P. Mark Sanford's political career.
Or wait. Was that supposed to be Ed McMahon?
The top comment on the news page about Michael's death when I was there was about him being a pedophile and wishing he'd burn in hell. I mean, sheesh, give a guy that's just died a little respect. It makes me wonder, though, what his reputation might have been if he'd been part of the "27 Club" -- famous musicians that died at age 27 (Hendrix, Joplin, Morrison, Cobain, to name the best known members). That would have been about 1985, after Thriller came out but before his next release, Bad, and before his worldwide reputation really took a left turn into weirdo land.
I mean, it's just idle speculation... by the same token, I sometimes wonder what Hendrix, Cobain, etc. might have accomplished if they'd lived long lives. I mean nobody in 1985 could have guessed what lay ahead for Michael.
Anyway, whatever you think of him the song Thriller still rocks. ^_^
