I drove up to Seattle last night so
miertam could "help" me install my new fan on my ailing computer (I read a comic while he did the work -- cheap freebie Ironman comic given out when they saw Ironman 2). Afterwards we turned it on and ran it for a while, tried to get it to overheat, everything seemed to work just fine.
So naturally, everything did work fine -- until I got home. Now the machine is blue screening soon after booting up. I assume that the CPU is fried at the very least. It wouldn't be expensive to replace (even the motherboard and memory I suppose) but I don't know if I can afford it at the moment. But it depresses me a little, since this is not the computer that I was supposed to be replacing with the new one.
At least the new one is running just fine.
