Geeky Sports Note
Mar. 15th, 2002 02:02 pmI was amused yesterday to hear how the Stanford Cardinals began their first-round NCAA tournament game.
They forgot to turn in their starting lineup, and were hit with 2 technical fouls, before the game even started. The other team made one of them, so when the teams met to jump for the ball (the start of the game), Stanford was already down 1-0.
How often does a team actually start a game already behind? In the world of sports hyperbole, I'm sure it's been SAID of many teams... but it's never literally true. ^_^
