Writing Report

miko2Just a short update to confirm that I haven't written very much in the last two days, but overall this week I got quite a bit of writing done on Muyami Academy.
I logged in to Everquest and Toontown last night. Mostly I am preparing to give away all of my stuff in EQ to friends so that I can cancel the account. I hadn't logged in before this since July 4th, and that was only to sell some stuff. I haven't really played since the beginning of June.
I want to quit Toontown too but Tom wants to play still, so maybe I'll hold on to it a while. I played Toontown from June through September, but I haven't played since Conifur. Since that time I've managed to get a lot more writing done, but I still haven't finished any stories. The only stories I've finished since Spring were "Flight Control" and "Bonk On The Head", two anime fan fiction stories.
I visited Fanfiction.net which I hadn't been to in maybe two years at least. I updated some of my stuff and added new stories. This resulted in a lot of "reviews". The thing about Fanfiction.net is that there's a lot of crap there, so a well-written story is certain to get good "reviews", which are less of the critical review nature and more of the gushing "I loved it! It made me laugh!" praise nature. So you know, I've been getting e-mails all week that consist of ego boosts. Feels good anyway. ^_^
In particular "Flight Control" got a lot of positive response. Most people seem to like it. I didn't post "Bonk on the Head" there, which is a story that got a lot more critical and negative response when I posted it to the FFML a few months ago.
I guess I *have* finished something since then... I pretty much completed Muyami Academy chapter 14 last week, not sure if I've posted it to my web site or not before this (haven't updated since June). I've also completed chapter two of "A Goddess in Oz" within the last couple of months, but haven't posted it anywhere. What I want to do is complete a Tai-Pan story or three.
Today is a good day to write, since tomorrow we have a Steam-Punk game to attend. The musical, in fact. Gene is scaring us all.
I have Monday off. This is because I was going to testify in the case involving my car being stolen last year and used in a kidnapping... but once again they've moved it, this time only one week ahead. They didn't summon me until Wednesday, and didn't tell me of the continuance until today. So too late to unschedule my day off. These people are starting to annoy me, they've changed the date of the trial four times now.
Plus I have to drive to Mount Vernon and be ready by 9:30 AM. Or at least, that was the deal for this Monday before they changed it. At least now I won't be doing it after a long RPG session the day before.
My comic shop guy Gabriel played a new band he discovered called "Yoshida Brothers". For some reason I thought it sounded like Chinese music... actually they're playing shamisens which is primarily an Okinawan instrument as far as I know. Anyway they move from traditional stuff to electronica, sort of a Japanese Hedningarna in a way. I stopped at Silver Platters on the way to work to try and buy their cd, but it wasn't in the rock section and when I looked in the international section I looked in the Chinese area... only later did it occur to me that "Yoshida" is clearly a Japanese name. I mean, we even ship for the Yoshida company in Portland (maker of fine sauces, Asian foods, and snowboards... honest).
So my goals for today would be A) Go buy a Yoshida Brothers cd B) Stop at Half Price Books maybe C) Pay attention to if the Huskies are winning or not D) Find time to write a little E) Maybe mail that stupid record back that got sent to me when I ordered a cd and F) Think about Christmas gifts, like for example I would buy Yoshida Brothers for Sky for Christmas except he's probably heard of it already and if not then he's reading about it now... but I have other ideas for my friends. I need to start making lists.
