Today I wore my dragon necklace that
jwyldragon gave me a year ago. It has a little flaw in the back -- a piece of metal that sticks out, hangs off the end of the tail or one of the fiddly bits. It's nothing you'd notice looking at it but it's something sharp that sticks out, and for some reason whenever I wear this necklace I wind up playing with it and especially with that little sharp piece of metal that sticks out. I run it under my thumbnail a lot. Eventually my thumb starts to hurt. I don't know why I do this... just something like a worry stone or whatever. I mean, I tend to play with my celtic cross mandala necklace thing too, but it doesn't have any edges that I can slide under my thumb until it begins to hurt.
It's like
kehf playing with all of her bracelets during our gaming session. Watching her play with them made me want some of my own... just something to play with. After all that's why I have the kooshes and the juggle ball and marbles in my big coffee can of dice, and that's why I got out the Chinese whateveryoucallthem balls (which
jwyldragon also gave me) to play with during the game.
I have a ring that my sister gave me, which I keep in my coat breast pocket and pretty much never wear anymore. It has a celtic knotwork pattern on it, but the knotwork part is seperate from the rest of the ring and set in a groove... it's sort of a ring within a ring, and you and wear the ring and spin the knotwork part about. When I do wear the ring I spin it a lot... just for something to do while I'm thinkiing of other things.
Anyway the advantage of the ring or my necklace or
kehf's bracelets is that you don't have to carry them about or wonder where you set them... they're worry stones that are wearable so that you can play with them when you feel the urge and then forget about them. I'd use my Chinese exercise ball thingys a lot more if they were that handy. ^_^
No point to all of this... just an observation. ^_^
